I love the town of Mackenzie. Grew up there
Thanks awesome I like this.
Really great little video, showing how these beautiful people protect the land and sea. Our wonderful Indigenous People, our Keepers of the Land. Greetings from Vancouver! ☮️ ❤
I mean these guys have been doing this for 14,000 years, we should all take notes.
There was no internet when I lived up there. It was GREAT
neat video Northern Development Initiative Trust. I shattered the thumbs up on your video. Maintain up the very good work.
We moved here from the lower mainland and love it! Mountains are visible from top of town great amenities and people 😀
I live in Pitt meadows and have been looking at a small house in Ft Nelson that will mortgage far less than what is available here in Rent. I live on BC disability so there is not much I can afford. Interesting you went there from the lower mainland.
@@truthfilterforyoutube8218 600 rent here we go problem is there;s so few people coming through that airfare is pricey and not always available
how do you do that?
And you have Skookum Derek and Jennifer Ranger too the best UA-cam yachting show in the World
We have an opportunity banging at our front door right now. To create an entire industry based on bio- plastics by growing kelp. If were listening we might hear the door open to this and a number of additional opportunities.
Character In the video It's great, I like it a lot $$
WE WOULD LOVE TO GO TO ANY NATIVE TRIBE ANYWHERE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA THAT LIVES ON THE LAND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF ASSISTANCE FROM THE CHINESE-CANADIAN'S, AFRICAN-CANADIAN'S, INDO AND CAUCASIAN CANADIAN'S, WHO COME TOGETHER AND NOT ONLY BUILD THIS NATION UP, BUT ALSO STOP NATIVE TRIBES FROM SLAUGHTERING ONE ANOTHER!... WAIT... WHAT??? WE ALL ALREADY STOPPED THEM FROM DECIMATING THEIR RIVAL TRIBES???!!! N0W WE ALL SLAVE DAY BY DAY, RISKING INJURY AND STRESSES WHICH ARE OFTEN OVERWHELMING TO PROVIDE FOR OUR GROUP OF FAMILIES, AS WE PAY ALL OF THEIR DAILY EXPENSES AND PREVENT THEM FROM SLAUGHTERING EACH AND EVERY OPPOSING TRIBE! NUFF SAID FOR NOW!!!
Cutting straight strips through a diverse stand is not how you commercially thin. This is a terrible idea on what the forest licenses should be doing
I lived i macenzie
Sounds like an ad by the government to justify the unnecessary expense of taxpayers monies. Rumble Beach, or as you call it now , Port Alice, has always had telephone service. If you have telephone you have internet..
Lovely to see this. A great forward looking community and yes, the first municipality in Canada to embrace my work to advance Social Procurement.
...tried to get a job there, 1990?. ..one level short for qualification.
I live here Looking some where to move here is the place
Lived there for many years. The day I moved was the beginning of the best years of my life.
The day you moved in or out Mackenzie?
same lol
I would say there without wifi... But glad that they connect with the rest of the world so share how beautiful it is, also more people to come and experience
I am heading over to Queen Charlotte tomorrow for one month.
This place looks beautiful. Thanks for the upload.
100 mile house is beautiful
Greatly appreciate the effort you put in this tutorial...I have subscribed to your newsletter !!!
This is very very useful tutorial and I have listened to it more than 5 times and have taken notes (pausing and listening again over the last 2 years). Looking at the grants and different stages has helped me in organizing more carefully from the ideas to the outcomes. I volunteer for IEEE smart village (Dev Com) and we use the 3 pillars of education/electricity/entrepreneurship to empower villagers(around 14 projects with major focus in Africa/Asia). I will definitely reach back to see if I can use this webinar for training the global teams/community partners. Very Best, George
Oooooooooooooooooof why is this my recommended list
Thank you for this great video. It makes me homesick! I lived there from the age of 7 to 15, so I spent a good part of my childhood there, the last 2 or 3 years in Rumble Beach (the new Port Alice). I'm sure if I went back for a visit, I probably wouldn't recognise it. Everything looks so green now. There are streets lined with planters of beautiful flowers and the trees have matured. (I know this from online videos.) A lot changes in 50 years.
Thank you , I couldn't remember the name, I know that port Alice was actually the old town site closer to the mill. Do you recall the name of the landing North of Rumble but South of Jeune Landing?
I lived in Port Alice from 1960-1992 I arrived there as an 17 year old from Germany. It is a beautiful place, raised my children there. I still live on Vancouver Island.
Where do you live now?
Glad you are still alive and kicking. Is Eddie still with us?
I loved watching this. I've never been that far north, and I hope I'll get there one day.
Sorry but if you want mountains it's another 3 hrs north on the Alaska highway
Wow i never realized how beautiful Port Alice is haven't been there in a while
Don't forget they get about 170 INCHES of rain a year. I was up there in the late 70's. Last time I was there was in'89. Nick Pozedny was getting close to retirement. Great guy, too. Hope things worked out well for him.
This is wear it live
That would be the Occidental and the Cariboo.
I live in mackenzie
same

+King Arthur really good
+King Arthur we treat them like everybody else in this town
I Grew up there moved away 17 years ago good memories
thanks for the tips, so you fellas are investors?
awesome, looking for some commercial space, an old fixerupper, any thoughts on that would be appreciated greatly.
Born and raised in Kitimat, it is a beautiful wonderful place filled with nature but had to move away as the lack of anything else was too much for my younger self. All who live there now be prepared for it to be changed and destroyed drastically by the 'industries' bidding to set up shop there. Money is flooding into it and it is the beginning of the end of what is considered one of the most beautiful places in BC (or the world). Once industry gets its hold of it say goodbye to natural habitat for wildlife, fresh clean water and healthy air. The town may grow, prices will soar, people who benefit will be very happy BUT there will be a price to pay and it won't be pretty and all who are in approval of this may be sorry. It makes me sad that this town will be destroyed for profit.
Hard to believe... when I moved away from Kitimat to Alberta in 2004 the place was dead and dying, then Eurocan finally rolled over and died in 2010. I've been back a few times. Still seemed like it was dead as a doornail but in my most recent visit in July 2012 I had trouble just getting a hotel room. Rent is skyrocketing and there is all sorts of development. I miss Kitimat a lot but i don't think I will recognize the place next time I visit.
Hey I Was Born There No Affents though but It's really boring there, so I'm living in Vancouver for 1 year thank god lol But I kinda love the library there
We can develop the north west by ending raw log exports and send those logs to northwest mills instead
